He is also a Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Accountant, Certified Forensic Accountant, International Public Accountant, Chartered Cost and Management Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Financial Services Auditor, Certified Financial Consultant, Chartered and Certified Business Administrator, Chartered Business Consultant, Chartered Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Accountant, International Forensic Auditing Consultant and a Specialist in Commercial and Industrial Administration, with forty (40) years experience in both public and private sectors of the Caribbean and United Kingdom. His general experience and expertise include internal and external auditing, forensic accounting and auditing, fraud examination and investigation, financial and management accounting, government financial management, credit control and credit management, corporate and personal taxation, purchasing and supply, stores accounting and control, demand forecasting and marketing, procurement and contracting, corporate secretarial and administration, budgetary and financial and economic analysis, financial reporting, statistical, market and operational research, business development and finance, venture capital financing, financial planning and investment, development banking, international taxation, international development and financial monitoring of international donor and development projects.

Sir Tyrone is the recipient of many international awards including: The US Agency for International Development for Superior Performance in Project Monitoring and Financial Management; 21st Century Award and Medal of Honor for Achievement from The International Biographical Centre, Cambridge England - In recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of financial management and forensic auditing; Cambridge Blue Book Man of the Year 2005; Lifetime Achievement Award from The World Congress of Arts, Sciences and Communications; Legion of Honor Award from The United Cultural Convention of The USA; Inducted into The American Hall of Fame of The American Biographical Institute; World Lifetime Achievement Award - American Biographical Institute; Inducted into the American Order of Excellence for Accomplishments in the Field of Financial Management and Forensic Auditing; Recipient of the American Medal of Honor; International Professional of the Year Award 2007, International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England; International Peace Prize, United Cultural Convention of the USA.

Sir Tyrone is also a DOCTORAL FELLOW of The British Institute of Professional Financial Managers , and Doctoral Member of Faculty of Teachers in Commerce of Britain.

On 23rd April 2008, The American Biographical Institute honored Sir Tyrone by the establishment of a Foundation called THE DR.SIR TYRONE ARRINDALE WATKINS AWARD FOUNDATION, the purpose of which is to commend and salute individuals who have made unprecedented contributions to the profession of Finance, Financial Management and Accounting. This Foundation is a Chapter of The American Biographical Institute.
